San Marcos River Tubing

Frequently Asked Questions

Our tubing season runs from May 1st through the last weekend in September. (Weekends only in May and September)
We open at 11 a.m. Monday through Saturday and at noon on Sunday. We stop putting tubes in the river at 4 p.m. and close the gates at 6:00 p.m. on week days and 7:00 p.m. on weekends.
Nope. The can ban only applies to the portion of the river that runs through Martindale’s city limits. Thankfully, that is downriver from us and it does not apply to our float trip. We enjoy a cold brew on a hot day as much as anyone.
Our float lasts from 11/2 to 2 hours if you float straight through without stopping.
Our $8 shuttle the best deal on the River……bar none. Cash prices are listed below. There is a service charge added to credit card purchases.

$10 tube and/or cooler tube rental
(Free cooler tube with rental of 4 tubes)

Absolutely!
It’s $8 per shuttle ride if you want to bring your own tube and just use the shuttle. Parking is free with shuttle purchase. And…..you can inflate it here for FREE with our fast and easy air pumps.
You bet! Shuttles are $8 per run. Shuttles run from 11:00 a.m. up until 4 p.m. Come early, float the river, have lunch, and float again.
We recommend wearing river shoes. Lace up shoes or Velcro type sandals work the best. Flip flops do not work very well at all, except for paddles. Barefoot is a really bad idea.
Bring plenty of sunscreen and water.
Sun glasses and a hat help. It can get awfully bright on the river.
Absolutely! As long as you remain in the river. All the property along this section of river is privately owned and even if a no trespassing sign is not visible, you could still get a ticket. Purple paint along the banks is accepted as a no trespassing sign by Texas law. Trespassing fines can be pretty steep so stay in the river if possible.
All Great Gonzo’s cooler tubes come with a trash sack attached and we provide free sacks on request. Please help us keep the river clean and healthy by bringing trash down with you. There are receptacles at the Great Gonzo’s take out to dump your trash.
No. We are day use only. The park closes at 6 p.m. week day and 7:00 p.m. on weekends
No. But contained grills or Coleman type stoves are allowed.
You bet. Cooler tubes are free with rental of 4 or more tubes and can be rented for $10 each.
We do not, but you are welcome to bring your own. Just no glass bottles please.
There is no age limit to enter the campground but tubers must be 18 or older unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parents or adult guardians must sign a waiver for anyone under 18.
